About
Mr. Dick Boon
Mr. Dick Boon, the designer of Jasmin, started his career as a freelance
yacht designer in October 1961. In 1963, Dick and his partner established
Vripack Yachting Company which covered both the design and sale of
yachts. In the spring of 1987, Vripack ceased being a combined design
and sales office for complete projects and concentrated solely on
its core business of yacht design. With the introduction of computer
to the enormous in-house experience gained during more than two decades
of project management, the company had a unique overview of the countless
facets involved in the make-up of a yacht. Today, nearly 50 highly
skilled and enthusiastic designers work at Vripack. They also function
as a professional design and engineering office, involved in the entire
building process: design, construction efficiency, plate extensions,
nesting, mechanical engineering, interiors and so on. This means that
in addition to serving yacht owners, Vripack also counts many renowned
yards from at home and abroad as its clients.

Over
7,000 yachts have benefited from the company's innovative approach
and resolute insistence on perfection. Today, Vripack has become
a byword for vessels with world cruising capabilities that guarantee
total reliability and ultra-low level maintenance. By refusing
to compromise on issues such as maneuverability and seaworthiness,
each design is characterized by the same degree of power. |
Let's have a short look at Vripack's successful designs: Built
in 1996, "Turmoil" was the first of the Research Vessel
yacht series. The brief called for a combination of the design of
a yacht with the appearance of a commercial vessel. Turmoil herself
was winner of the 1996 Showboats Award for "most innovative
motor yacht".
Constructed in the Netherlands, "Freesia" won the International
Super yacht Design Award for "best power motor yacht 23-43
meters" in 1998. The Research Vessel Yacht concept initiated
the no-nonsense-go-anywhere trend.
Doggersbank Offshore 84' "Coy-Koi" is one of the successful
Doggersbank motor yachts. Many Doggersbank motor yachts have been
built over the past 30 years. Their most important characteristics
are timeless lines, the quality of the equipment and an excellent
sailing performance.
We would like to extend our thanks to Mr. Dick Boon, who has been
following Jasmin from the 1st day of welding until the day Jasmin
left the yard. He has made countless trips to Istanbul in order
to supervise the construction. Mr.Dick Boon and the Vripack team
keep the biggest share in the successful creation of Jasmin.
