History
Dick Boon, President of the company, became an independent naval architect
in 1961: three years later, he had established Vripack Yachting International.
Boon originally had a partner in this venture, but his untimely death
- within a year of the company's foundation - left Boon, a secretary
and two draftsman to handle not only the design and main contracting
of all the company's project's, but also the sales side of the business.
Despite these difficult and unfortunate circumstances, by 1968 Boon
had completed the designs for the Doggersbank series of 11-37 metre
ocean-going motoryachts. This design proved to be immensely popular,
and more than 470 have been launched to date.
Although the Doggersbank was, and still is, one of Vripack's most
successful
designs, it had one drawback: its reputation became so widely spread
that many people thought it was the only thing Vripack Yachting International
did. Far from it !

Between 1965 and 1987, the company designed and built numerous custom-built
yachts for clients all over the world. In 1987, Boon decided to drop
the company's main contracting activities in favour of pure naval
architecture, planning and construction supervision, as well as representing
clients on projects.
Since that time, Vripack-Yachting International has been involved
in the production of 20 foot power sloop to 200-foot superyachts -
and everything in between from sailing yachts to commercial used vessels.
In addition to all of the regular services involved in yacht design,
Vripack extended it's services by playing an active roll in the building
of the yacht. This is accomplished by delivery of a complete building
kit of the entire yacht in-regardless its size.
Beside motor and sailing yachts also commercial vessels are in the
scope of Vripack-Yachting International services.
In the last 5 years Vripack has been active in developing designing
and supplying drawing & building kit for : Yards and Owners dealing
with cockle harvesters, shrimp harvesters, fishing cutters, Coastguard
patrol vessels, Coastguard exploration vessels high speed Pilot vessels
etc.
The main goal to achieve for these yards and owners was and still
is to limit the building cost and shorten the total building time,
until now, they all succeeded on that. And Vripack Yachting is still
improving to gain for even better results.
Vision
We don't imitate...., we innovate !
Our principles are easy:
We concentrate all major task within the design & building process
at one location.
This will keep us ahead of solving all technical problems or interference
between construction-engineering-interior in the design stage, and
not during construction.
Uncontrollable obligations between Owners and Yard have to be fully
controlled at the beginning.... the design stage!!
Creativity is allowed only during the design stage. To keep building
costs as low as possible the production drawings are finished of
all areas that might affect other disciplines. Then the highest
level of productivity can be achieved without modifications or creative
building.
